The tale tells us that the Nag Hammadi codices were discovered in 1945 by Egyptian farmers digging for fertile soil on the east bank of the Nile River across from Nag Hammadi. They supposedly found buried ceramic jars - it is highly likely the find was a result of a grave robbery. Either way, the codices are now, after some adventures, in the Coptic Museum in Cairo.
The Nag Hammadi Codices, all written in Coptic Egyptian, possibly originally Greek, make up a collection of 12 papyrus volumes and fragments of a 13th. They were collected and written down sometime in the fourth century, with the original works likely conceived of in the first three centuries of the Christian era.
The writings include non-canonical gospels, acts, letter, apocalypses, revelatory dialogues and philosophical tractates. They help us understand the world of Gnosticism, of which there are several directions.
In general, Gnostics believe in two Gods, a benevolent higher God, and an evil demi-urge, who is the ruler and creator of this world. The human was meant to learn to liberate the divine spark trapped in limiting matter, by understanding the existence of these two Gods and all the ramifications.
In one of the writings, the Hypostasis of the Archons or The Reality of the Rulers the background and creation of those forces which influence our thoughts, emotions and being towards negativity are explained.
“And the great angel Eleleth, understanding, spoke to me: "Within limitless realms dwells incorruptibility. Sophia, who is called Pistis, wanted to create something, alone without her consort; and her product was a celestial thing. A veil exists between the world above and the realms that are below; and shadow came into being beneath the veil; and that shadow became matter; and that shadow was projected apart. And what she had created became a product in the matter, like an aborted fetus. And it assumed a plastic form molded out of shadow, and became an arrogant beast resembling a lion. It was androgynous, as I have already said, because it was from matter that it derived.”
These Archons, or Rulers, seemingly can take physicality only for short times, and according to the writings, there are two types:
the embryonic type: “And what she had created became a product in the matter, like an aborted fetus.”
the draconian reptilian type: "And it assumed a plastic form molded out of shadow, and became an arrogant beast resembling a lion.”(John Lash explains here why this one indicates a draconian creature, although only writing of a beast resembling a lion.)
It was believed that these beings were interdimensional and could only stay in our frequencies for short periods of time. A longer explanation of all of this I explain in this video: The Fall of Sophia or The Greatest Love Story Ever Told:
What some people have focussed on, is the description of one type of Archons being embryonic, which some have considered to actually mean a grey alien being. Grey aliens are known to have large heads and eyes, short arms, torso and legs, reminiscent of an embryo.
Greys are known to be telepathic, and insidiously telepathic in some cases. In other cases, they are seen as very helpful.
And now this:
They are tiny, much, much, much smaller than a child. It seemingly has the classic proportions of a grey alien being, and is somewhat embyonic. What about the gnostic texts, that these beings are as embryos, then morph into draco-reptilians with lions heads? Could these be what the ancients called the Archons? Or are they benevolent fairies? Or neither, or both, or something else entirely?
What do you think?
